chelsea arts scene
The cultural heart of the city has been moving to Chelsea for over 20 years and now boasts over 350 galleries. The neighborhood hosts an extremely popular first Thursday every month where all the neighborhood galleries open late for locals and visitors from around the world. The new Whitney Museum opened in 2015 at the High Line’s southern-most entrance, providing a starting or ending point to any journey through the city’s densest gallery district as visitors make their way to and from Hudson Yards.
